Tradespeople use voice-enabled and AI-driven construction software on site.
Hamburg, Germany, August 14, 2025
Hamburg-based SaaS Plancraft closed a €38 million Series B to accelerate development of AI-driven and voice-enabled tools for contractors across Europe. The funding will expand product and AI capabilities, hire engineers and product specialists, and grow operations in multiple markets. Plancraft’s cloud platform digitises quotes, orders, time tracking and site documentation, pairing digital workflows with voice-first interactions and a roadmap toward AI agents that automate quoting and customer follow-ups. Serving over 20,000 tradespeople across 11 countries and employing 100+ staff, the company plans further hiring to support faster product iteration and regional expansion.
Hamburg-based SaaS firm Plancraft GmbH has closed a €38.0 million Series B round in August 2025 to accelerate development of AI-driven and voice-enabled software for construction contractors and tradespeople across Europe. The round was led by venture capital firm Headline, with participation from existing backers Creandum, HTGF and xdeck, bringing the company’s total funding to more than €50 million.
The new capital will be used to advance Plancraft’s cloud platform toward deeper automation and to expand the team and operations across multiple European countries. Key priorities include building AI agents that proactively handle customer interactions, generate tailored quotes and optimise day-to-day business operations, while also scaling product and AI engineering teams in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy and elsewhere.
Plancraft offers a cloud-based management platform designed for small and medium sized trades businesses. The software covers quote generation, order documents, time tracking, project planning and site documentation. The product currently combines voice-enabled workflows with a roadmap toward full AI automation so that workers can get answers and manage tasks through voice interactions. The company frames its mission as removing administrative burdens so craft professionals can focus on on-site work.
Since launching in 2020, Plancraft has grown to serve over 20,000 customers in approximately 11 European countries and now employs more than 100 people. The team more than doubled following a Series A in June 2024, when headcount rose from roughly 40 to over 100. The company is actively hiring additional product and AI specialists to support product innovation and geographic expansion.
Investors point to strong customer adoption, a clear product roadmap that pairs voice interactions with AI automation, and the potential for meaningful productivity gains in a sector facing structural challenges. The lead investor has a global presence and a track record of backing technology companies with international ambitions, and sees Plancraft as positioned to transform a traditional industry with AI-native tools.
Plancraft highlights several pressures on the European construction and trades sector: an ageing workforce, widespread skills shortages, growing bureaucracy, and an urgent need for climate-driven retrofits. Most businesses in the sector remain small, with around 95% of firms employing fewer than 20 people. The company argues that dramatic efficiency gains and better administrative tools are required to meet housing, decarbonisation and workforce challenges.
Plancraft was founded in 2020 by Julian Wiedenhaus, Alexander Noll and Richard Keil. The company is headquartered in Hamburg and describes its positioning as building AI for tradespeople. Founders and leaders say the plan is to make the product so intuitive that voice becomes the primary interface for busy contractors on site.
The Series B gives Plancraft the runway to scale its AI roadmap and expand across Europe while recruiting more product and AI talent. The focus is on reducing paperwork for small trades businesses and introducing voice-driven, proactive automation to an industry under pressure from labour and climate-related demands.
